A Wrinkle in Time by: madeline L'engle

In this book, there is the main characters, Meg, Charles Wallace, and, Calvin. Meg and Charles Wallace are brother and sister. They met Calvin while they were walking their dog to Mrs. Who, Mrs. whatsit, and Mrs. Which's house. These ladies are Charles Wallace's friends.

They later find out that they are three star ladies that are here to help them find their Dad who is a former scientist who had traveled to a different planet, working for the government. He has been gone for many months, and Meg had almost lost hope that her Dad would come back, until these three star ladies told her that they would help. They took Calvin along with them and transported to first the planet Uriel, where the star ladies gave them these flowers, in which they stick their noses into when they transport as the atmosphere gets thinner so they can breathe. After they go to Uriel, the star ladies almost transport them to Mars, but they remember that it is a two dimensional planet and the flowers are not strong enough for them to breathe through. After that big mistake, they finally land on, Camazotz, the planet where their Dad is trapped on. When they get there, they realize that everything is the same, and that everything runs on a certain beat, the girls jump ropes, the boy's bouncing balls, even the Mom's when they come to get their kids are on the same beat. What weird planet is this? Why do they run on a certain beat? What is this controlled by? Ffind out in, A Wrinkle in Time.

Closed for the Season

Logan just moved in to what everyone calls " the murder house" they call it that because the old lady that lived there "Myrtle Donaldson" was murdered in her own home. Everyone thinks it is Ms. Donaldsons' brother in law Sylas because he never liked Myrtle and he has a criminal record. Logan meets a boy named Arthur. They become friends and want to find out the mystery of her sudden death. Along the way they meet Nina, a reporter on the same case. The more they figure out the more trouble they get into.

Diary of a wimpy kid

In this book, Greg is the main character. He would first like to inform you that this is a JOURNAL not a diary. He talks about his life both in middle school, and at home. At home he has 4 siblings, Mom, Dad, Rodrick, and his little brother, Manny. Mom is always trying to lose weight but she never ends up doing it, instead she sits on the couch and eats potato chips. Dad get's up at 6:00 in the morning on weekends and let's just say that in Greg's opinion he isn't very considerate of people who are trying to enjoy their weekends like a normal person. Rodrick is his annoying older brother who has his own heavy metal band and likes to trick Greg. Manny is the annoying little brother who tells on everything Greg does.

The Snow Spider

This book is about a boy and it is his birthday. His mom is going to give him a real party this year. He invited his two friends over. When he walks in the door he is really surprised because the table was set with their nicest tablecloth and china. After they ate they got out the old record player and started dancing. They all had a really fun time. After their friends all left it was time for grandma's gift. she gave him his sister Bethany's yellow scarf, and a broken horse which she told him never to let go. He was really confused about why she would give him Bethany's old scarf because she had been missing for a while.

Fablehaven

Kendra and Seth's parents are going on a cruise so Kendra and Seth are going to stay with their grandpa and grandma Sorenson, and they are weird. Plus they're parents didn't tell them that they're grrandparents live in India. on their way there Seth keeps complaining if they were there yet which wasn't even close. Once they got there they found out they were going to have the attic for a bedroom which they kind of don't want to here because most attics are not very big and clean. Did I mention they don't have a TV? Once their parents left their grandpa took them up and showed them the attic which turned out to be na beautiful playroom but there was rules, #1 do not go into the woods because it was tick seaso. You could go to the pool or explore the yard but the woods were off limits. rule #2 you can't go into the barn. There was no reason for that one. Finally rule#3 you cannot drink the milk from the barn until it is clean. Later on they went for a swim and Kendra took a mirror that she found earlier. Later they were to busy swimming that they didn't even realize all the fairies crowding around the mirror.

Penny From Heaven

Penny is in sixth grade and is out for the summer. Her best friend is her cousin Frankie. He has a talent for getting into trouble. He won't read anything except for comics. Penny's dad died when she was a baby. Her dads family tells her that he died of pneumonia but her mom won't tell her anything about her dad. Ida B is about 10 years old. She likes to make plans. She lives with her Mom, Dad, cat Lulu, and her dog Rufus who Ida calls the king of Slobberville and other names because when he sleeps he drools all over. She is taught at home by her mom and dad because She absolutely did NOT like her first day of kindergarten. "It was to boring." she would say. The next day her mom came to school with her, by the end of the day they both came out heads drooping and all. They didn't say a word to each other the whole way home. Then her mom and dad decided that she would be home schooled. Ida B thought that life was perfect until her Mom got cancer and she had to go back to school.

Araminta Spookie's parents went Vampire hunting and didn't come back, so she lives with her Aunt and Uncle. Her uncle works at night and he has bats all over in his room, it's disgusting. He has to sleep all day. Her aunt, Tabby is crabby. She hates the boiler, because every time she tries to clean it out, she gets soot all over herself. Her aunt wants to sell the house because of the boiler. She puts up a sign without asking anyone about it. Araminta changes the sign to say "This house is NOT for sale". Her Aunt crosses out the 'NOT'. The real estate people are coming, so Araminta takes out her dead fish and her fish bowl and all the yucky water and dumps it down the drain pipe and it lands on the real esate agent. Caroline wants to either be the strawberry queen or be on the float with the strawberry queen. Peter wants to eat all of the strawberry treats that he can eat. The others don't know what choice they will make yet. To earn the money Josh decides he's going to sell some of his paintings. Caroline is going to act out fairy tales. Hart Evans is one of the most popular boys in school. Although he doesn't have anything special about him, except for his name, Hartford, Hart for short. Even with a different name, everyone still thought he was cool. He could get away with almost anything. For example; there was one time he got caught swinging on the rope in gym class and had to stay after class and run laps . When he got there the teacher said he could go but he couldn't let it happen again. So one day he thought it would be funny to shoot a rubber band at Mr. Meinert's head during band class. It hit Mr. Meinert's back. Mr. Meinert sent Hart straight to the principal's office. Hart got detention Tuesday and Friday after school. The kids had to the run the band program by themselves. My Big Sister is So Bossy

I only read a few pages of this book. I read a few pages because it said a couple of bad words and I don't think that it is very appropiate for kids my age.

The whole fourth grade is learning about the election because they are electing a new mayor. They are going through an election themselves. They are electing a fourth grade President. There are two people from each class that are going to run. The mayor is trying to decide whether to build a playground or a parking garage. The kids want a playground but the adults want a parking garage.

During the election, Katie, Manny, & Suzanne are running for President. Katie's friends are helping her to make posters. When Suzanne starts to make her posters, she makes one of Katie's friends help her, and bribes him with pizza and that makes Katie mad. On one of Katie's posters it says "It's Katie Time", the next day, the poster read "It's not Katie time". Katie thinks that Suzanne might have done it, because Suzanne cheats, and is so convinced that she's going to win. The Work & The Glory Volume 1

This book is historical fiction. Historical fiction is about true historical facts with some fictional (made up) characters involved in the story.

This book is about Joseph Smith. In this book Joseph Smith is in his 20's. He is hired to work on the Steed (fictional family) family property. Joseph Smith is teased and made fun of, because he is translating "gold plates", but a lot of people call it the "gold bible". He is made fun of for his vision of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. The Steed family do not know his story, but Nathan Steed begins to be friends with Joseph and later in the story asks Joseph about these things. Joshua is the oldest in the Steed family. He's really stubborn. He doesn't listen to his parents. He likes a girl named Lydia. She is the daughter of Josiah and Hannah McBride, important members of the local Presbyterian Church. Lydia and Joshua start to meet each other and Lydia's parents don't like the Steed family very much because they hired Joseph Smith. Joshua meets some friends who are not very good people and Lydia doesn't like that he's changed. One night Joshua wants Lydia to come with him to steal the "gold bible" from Joseph Smith. Lydia goes to the Steeds and tells them what Joshua is doing. Benjamin Steed (father) and Nathan Steed (brother) go in search of Joshua...

This book is written for Teens and older, but I really wanted to read it. It is a good book with lost of twists and turns and it is fun to learn about Joseph Smith. I plan on reading the whole series. I'm not sure I will blog about the whole series. Tell me what you think?

Clementine's Letter

Clementine's teacher is competing in the Great Adventure for Teachers. If he wins he will go live in Egypt for the rest of the year and Mrs. Nagel will be their teacher for the rest of the year. There's only one problem about that. Clementine doesn't want Mr. D 'Mats to go to Egypt. She want's him to stay and teach them for the rest of the year. One day in class they are assigned to write their teacher a letter to wish him good luck. Clementine starts to write her letter and says some pretty mean things about her teacher. When the time comes they go to the place where they choose who will win. Every Teacher has to choose one person from their class to read their letter. When it was Mr. D 'Mats turn to choose. The Talented Clementine

Clementine is getting ready for a talent show but she has no talents! Clementine has tried to get her teachers to cancel The Talent Palooza Night of the Stars show but it just wouldn't work. She couldn't sing, she couldn't dance, she couldn't even hop! A couple days before the show they started rehearsal and because Clementine didn't have a talent she helped direct the talent show. First there was a Dozen Doozy Cartwheelers. Then there was a boy who could burp the National Anthem. Then there was a boy who would blow a note in his harmonica and his dog would howl it.
