Penny is in sixth grade and is out for the summer. Her best friend is her cousin Frankie. He has a talent for getting into trouble. He won't read anything except for comics. Penny's dad died when she was a baby. Her dads family tells her that he died of pneumonia but her mom won't tell her anything about her dad.
